Engagement Session
11/10/2006

We had a great time with Rachel + Nathaniel. The only thing I knew of Nathaniel was a High School Dance Photo that Angie had. I love when Angie’s friends from Mesa High School ask us to be a part of their wedding. Ayways, the lovely couple was so fun and cute with each other. We had to do something “creative + fun.” So we bought an umbrella to bring with us. The cashier at Target probably thought I was crazy to buy an umbrella in Arizona!!!

We shot the session at Mesa Arts Center and some little sections of Downtown Mesa, which we love!!! These two were so much fun and Nathaniel kept us going with a great knock-knock joke. Thanks again guys!!!

Weekly iTunes Purchases: #1

Filed under: Entertainment — sloanphotographers @ 1:46 am

I am a huge fan of music. Either both on our iPods/computers or live and in-person. For the past couple of months, I have been having a blast with iTunes Store (it was just a music store, but now it’s a Wal-Mart). I have been working hard at editing weddings and designing some new marketing materials so I have been needing some great music. So each week, usually on Tuesday at 1am (when iTunes gets the new crop), I have been trying to buy something new. Sometimes it’s a full album, an EP, or a couple of singles. Each week I would like to share what I have found.

This week I bought two things:
1. I tried out the iTunes Movie Store. I bought Cars since I never saw it in theatres. Angie won’t watch bad movies, so I got to keep it clean for us to have a good movie night. I love everything about Pixar/Disney movies. I guess I’m really a little kid at heart. Those movies have some great entertainment value. And usually a great, fun ending. The movie was pretty cool to plug the iPod into the TV. It had great quality. I do recommend the iTunes Movie Store.

2. I love independent record labels. If I really find something different and good, or someone recommended, I usually like to support the smaller artists. This week I bought Cursive’s “Happy Hollow” from Saddle Creek Records. I have loved this band for awhile now. The sound on this album was different as they have dropped the cello. Which was why I loved the different sound in the beginning. It’s a decent album.

Lilly’s Birthday

Lilly Medina just turned 2 today!!! She is my niece. (Which makes Michelle my sister.) It has already gone by so fast. We still remember living with them for a month last summer and this last year seems to fo flown by. Michelle thanks for inviting us!!!

We are trying to get better at gift giving. This year Lilly was in love with Strawberry Shortcake. Unfortunately, Target only had lifesize dolls so we got her a Little Toy Pet Chihuahua which are the type of dogs we all have. I think she loved our gift the most. Anyways, she is such a cutie!!! Look for the Medina Girls Session this Tuesday!!!
