Boudoir Sessions

Filed under: News — sloanphotographers @ 1:00 pm

After much thought and discussion, we are excited to finally offer boudoir sessions to our clients. While we will most likely not show most of the boudoir work on our blog or website, we will invite those interested to email us to get a link to samples or to the posts that have passwords.

These sessions are for anyone interested. These are great sessions for a special gift to the fiance, boyfriend, or husband. It’s also a great time to take some photos for you. You will hopefully remember these photos forever.

Our sessions begin at $300 and we offer prints, albums, books, and slideshows!

Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Below this post is Tyler’s Boudoir Session. While we aren’t going to post it for just anyone to see, we are going to allow those interested view the session to email us or write a comment in this post. We will pass along the password. She has given us permission to share it with you.

Our Email is:

matt@sloanphotographers.com

Also, please feel free to make a comment so we can hear from you. We love hearing your ideas and thoughts!

8 Levels of Narcissism-Angie’s Turn

Filed under: News — sloanphotographers @ 2:30 pm

Ok so Sandie and Chris tagged me so here are 8 things you probably don’t know about me.

1. My mom used to get really nervous when I would try new things. She would say ” Bo you are to adventurous” So I would get injured alot when I was a kid. I broke my nose twice. I broke all of my toes. I have had a million sprained ankles. I’ve had stiches twice. I have lots of little scars. One from when I was riding a bike and I was going down a huge hill and lost control and ran into a bobbed wire fence. The other I was doing backflips on my parents bed and accidently hit the glass light overhead and it shattered and sliced my feet all over the place.

2. I went to Tuesday Trilogy which if you don’t know was a day where they played all extended versions of Lord of the Rings in a row at the MOVIE THEATER!!! It goes on the top 5 best days of my life. I was depressed for quite some time after the LOTR Return of the King came out in the theaters, because I came to the realization the trilogy has ended. I dream all the time that I was in that movie. I also like to think I’m couragous like Aragorn is. (I know I am a NERD!)

3. I love DOGS sooooooooo Much! I also Like Sloth’s. Matt call’s me a Sloth, because I like to Eat and Sleep. That is all Sloth’s do!

4. I love Roller Coasters. I went on the Tallest and Fastest Coaster in the World (At the time) Top Thrill Dragster! When we got to the Top, we didn’t make it and our coaster rolled all the way back down to the beginning. You can check it out on the “Cedar Point” Website. It is CRAZY!!!

5. I love Disneyland. It always makes me sooooo excited to be there and I love the smell of Pirates of the Caribbean.

6. My favorite thing in the Whole Wide World is being a parent.

7. I went on a date once and at the end of the night. My date said ” I have never seen a girl eat soooooo much food before”. It is true I eat alot, because I love food!

8. I love playing in the rain. When we were younger. My mom would always run out in the rain and we would all wash our hair and then put soap on the trampoline and Jump and the bubbles would get soooooo high!

8 Levels of Narcissism

Filed under: News — sloanphotographers @ 5:27 pm

Well, I was tagged by Melissa Jill to share 8 honest and true things about me (that maybe not even Angie knows?). Then I am supposed to pass the invite on to 8 other people. Since, I never liked chain letters in email forms or any forward for that matter (I seriously hate email forwards) I really thought about it which made me want to share.

1. I love movies so much, that sometimes I will go to the Movie Theatre and watch two or three at a time. But, I can rarely watch a movie twice. Only if it’s in my top 25 of all time.

2. I love music so much that I have over 300 GB in my iTunes folders. And I collect and collect and collect. It says if I were to continuously play the music all the way through, it would take around 721 days, 13 hours, 23 minutes, and 43 seconds. Sometimes when I get bored, I go through and organize everything and make sure I have complete albums. It’s kinda like my thing. Angie thinks I am nuts!

3. When I was younger, I had a serious bed wetting problem. Once I got invited to a friends birthday party (which was rare because I lived 5+ miles outside of my small town), and we all went to bed on the floor. Well, I woke up in the middle of the night around 2am soaked. I soaked my sleeping bag and the carpet we were on. I was so scared and embarrassed, that I called my parents at 2am to come pick me up. I snuck out and all that was left was… well ya know.

4. I can’t type on a keyboard and am afraid of learning. I grew up in a small farm town that had wood and auto shop classes but not typing classes. I really would love to learn. I do though type on the Blackberry like a rabbit! LOL!

5. My biggest fear in life is not being able to defend my family. I used to watch serious scary movies with my sister Michelle and I do have one huge fear: “Someone in our house!!!” Seriously!

6. I took art classes in College and am horrible at drawing, painting, and constructive things. I do wish I had more talents in the design field!

7. I used to live, eat, breathe, sleep, dream, and love sports. When I was young, my favorite sport was baseball. I was really good until the switch from coach pitch to kid pitch. I think the year it switched to kid pitch, I got hit 100+ times. That was the last time I played competitive baseball.

8. I grew up really close to my mom and a ton of her rubbed off on me. So I am a serious emotional wreck sometimes. Like during the show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and really touching times. There are sometimes commercials, TV shows, etc. Or like when I got married, or when i danced with my mom, or hold Maddux. It’s sometimes embarrassing.

So I am inviting 8 people, some I know and some I don’t know so well.
1. Justin Lyon on Amelia Lyon’s Photo Blog
2. Jeremy and/or Claire Weiss on the DAY19 Photo Blog
3. Joey Lawrence.
4. The Apertura Photo Blog.
5. The Image is Found.
6. The Wiebners.
7. Riccis Valladares.
8. Sean Flanigan.

Albums!

Filed under: News — sloanphotographers @ 3:57 pm

Tis’ the time of the year when we are starting to get everyone their album designs. It’s so awesome to see how weddings seem to come together so well in an album. It’s like an amazing wedding storybook! So for those who are looking for albums, take a look at some quick samples we had done by Shannon at Riso Studio and one design I did all by myself.

Here is an 8×10 40 Page Leather Craftsmen 3500 Flush Mount Series we did for Jene + Mark:

Here is another senior session album we did for Joseph. It’s a 5×7 24 Page Leather Craftsmen 3500 Flush Mount Series:

Here is my 5×5 Brag Book we shot of Colleen’s Bridal Session: (We also designed the same album in a 10×10 in metallic pages!)

We have so much more to share! We can’t wait to fill you all in on the designs!

A Cool Story!

Filed under: News — sloanphotographers @ 5:00 pm

I have always wanted to write a book. Angie and I both have always loved writing short stories and poetry. Infact, when we were in college Angie wrote a comedic short story and her English Professor was begging her to enter it into this creative writing contest. Although she never did I know her story would have been a winner! I don’t really know what is keeping me from trying, but there is this article that really was an inspiration:

I am currently going through writing down some really good goals. I’ll hope to keep you updated!!!

Trash The Dress

Filed under: News — sloanphotographers @ 5:00 pm

We are excited to always discuss with everyone in “cyberspace” new ideas and trends. There has been a large discussion lately and a huge media uproar about “Trash the Dress.” It’s a session after your wedding, where you are allowed complete freedom to actually get spots on the dress with really cool photos.

For us, this is somewhat similar to a “Bridal Session” or “Day After Session.” But some honestly put the dress is crazy places and get it dirty.

While we are yet sold on this idea of Trash the Dress, we would love to hear more from you and your thoughts. Please also put some ideas in the comment box! Or write us an email”
