Portrait Session

Awhile back in July we shot the Kelly Grandchildren for a present for their GrandParents. We had a great time!

But, I do want to recommend an amazing movie: Into the Wild. I know this movie comes from an amazing book. I can admit I am not a huge reader as much as I used to be in the past. And I am not a huge movie critic. I enjoy most movies for what they are to me. I don’t really understand what it could mean to someone else. So I rarely will tell someone to see something or not see it. Well, unless it’s an amazingly stupid story or idea. But I do kinda pride myself into finding a great movie for me. I have seen some really good ones lately.
I can say I’ve seen a fairly good amount of movies in my life like most people. But, I can honestly say I usually don’t watch a movie twice. Well, unless my mom hasn’t seen it and I totally think she should. (BTW, I love going to the movie with my mom. It has been one of my favorite things forever. She is like the nest person to take.) I sure hope I get the chance to share this movie with someone else.
I am never afraid of emotion. It seems to be one of the things that drive me everyday. Into the Wild really got me emotionally. I really made me think. Like seriously. I wish I had the courage of Christopher McCandless. I am for sure not a huge hippy or do I have the urge to do what he did. But I do really connect with some of the ideas he went through.
This movie had some great acting with Emile Hirsch. I also really enjoyed the acting of Hal Holbrook and Vince Vaughn. The other actors were very good too! Eddie Vedder did an amazing job on the music. Sean Penn was superb in the writing and directing.
I really recommend this movie.
I sure hope to hear someone else gets a chance to see the movie. If you need someone to go with, give me a buzz.
*** I kinda regret not actually posting my Summer Movie Critiques. I still have it written down and I will actually post it when I get some real time to make it good. ***
So we have been thinking that we want you, as readers of our blog, to give more into discussion. So we are going to make a post every week about something real. Something important. Something to have a serious opinion on. We are asking you to give your thoughts in the comment section below. Nothing will be edited (unless rude, vulgar or obscene).
Here is this weeks story:

So we had a great time up here in Big Bear, CA. The weather was great. The fun times were had. We ate, slept, Haloed, jowled, photoed, laughed, snuggled, ran after Maddux, walked, cooked, cleaned, etc.
Here we are all together!

It was awesome!
Thanks to the Kaisers and Lyons for playing with us! I really had a great time getting to know you all better. Next time, there will be two more little ones around! Can’t wait!!!
Thanks to all of those who have kept up with the little trip!
We’ll get back to phone calls and emails when we get back to AZ on the 8th of October.
So far it’s been so nice and relaxing here in the mountains of California. The weather is nice. The kids have been great.
We had our third day here. I woke up early because Maddux has been a busy bee all day. So he goes to bed really early which makes him wake up early. But it’s nice here to wake up early. It’s really quiet with all three kids.
*** HERE IS A SLIDESHOW!!! ***
We decided to play another pool tournament but include Angie this time.
“Are you Kidding Me?” - Justin
Justin tries to intimidate.
But he also loves when Angie hits in the 8 Ball.
Hudson watching us play!
Angie misses another one.
Nate schooled all of us this time.
The Championship was between Nate and Justin again. This time Nate wasn’t going to miss.
Well, even though Justin was trying really hard to make him miss!!! LOL!
We then went and hung out while Justin shot Amelia’s Maternity Session.
Angie and Maddux!!! Awww!
Maddux had some red lips and face.
Angie snuck in a photo of Amelia! She is so cute and due October 25th. So close.
Then we had some entertainment of Grace and Nate! She has tons of energy!!!
At first, Grace didn’t like being swung, but then she was requesting the “Swinging Monkey”!!!
Nate was also a great model! We all had cameras on each other the whole trip!
I actually snuck in this photo!
Angie and Maddux on the cute bridge!
We then headed to the local Big Bear Arcade! It was one of the most ghetto arcades I have ever seen! But it had 25¢ Skee Ball. It was awesome!
Here is Grace playing Air Hockey!
Maddux and Hudson giving hugs on the motorcycle game.
So we have been chillin’ and relaxing a ton. It’s been great to be away from the busy that was our last couple of weeks. It’s been really nice here in Big Bear, CA. It kinda reminds me of a little Colorado. Just not as amazing! But a little better than the desert cactus.
Here is some fun from Day 2:
We went to a little deli and got some stuff for a picnic! Maddux had a great time with the air blower!
He also loves kinda flying down the slides!
Angie and Maddux got smoked by Grace!
Hudson was funny getting thrown in the air!
Maddux got some good air!
We even played with the ducks. They were so awesome to get so close!
Maddux was so cute watching the ducks!
We then hitup The Bowling Barn!
Grace was so funny to watch bowl!
The Bowling Alley!
Maddux threw his 1st ever ball!
Then he went running after it:
So funny! He even got pretty far and fell cause it was so slippery!
I actually got 5 strikes in a row to finish with my best score ever! 161! It was awesome!
Here’s the proof: strike, strike, and then three strikes in the 10th frame!
So we got into the cabin where we are camping in Big Bear, CA yesterday.
We have had a blast so far! We’ll for sure be keeping updates on the blog.
Maddux woke up early and it was pretty cold. It had to be around 20°.
We started out this morning with some sweet pancakes made by chef Nate:
We had to bring up Halo 3
We even watched Yo Gabba Gabba!
Maddux is cruising around everywhere this cabin. It’s pretty big!
Grace had really fun with Angie Coloring!
